DEATH or' ROBERT IARriHALL—
Tbe death of Robert Marshall, for
forty years a resident of this town-
ship, occurred on Thursday, tkb inst,
at the home of his daughter, Mrs.
James Livermore, Clinton. The de-
ceased had been in poor health for the
past year. He was horn at Rants -
kitten, Ireland, in I845 and came to
Canada forty-four years ago. He wan
• stonemason and for many years
worked at his trade in conjunction
with his farming Operations. He is
survived by bis wife and a family of
two sons and three daughter, : W. J.
Marshall, of Cliot,n : John T. Mar-
shall and Mrs. T. H. Cole, of Goderich
township; Mrs. James Livermore and
Mrs. Ernest Jackson, of Clinton.
ANOTHER OLD RESIDENT DEPARTS.
—This week we have to record the
death of James Lindsay, an old soil
highly respected resident of the Huron
road, Goderieh township. Mr. Lind-
say was in ' poor health about three
months Iasi Mmmer, but for some
time put wds, to all appearance,
in his taint health. On Saturday
morning, 8th inst., bis son Charles
found him dead in bed. The deceased
w -ss born in Dundee, Scotland. over
seventy -Rix years ago and at the age ot
six

road. Mr. Lindsey was married to bis
new bereft life partner, Anate Church-
ill, over forty-six years ago, and a

London : and Mise. Elisabeth Lindsay,
nurse. Toronto. Ikceased i, •survived
also by one brother, John B. Lindsay,
of Clinton, and three sisters, Mrs. J.
Robertson, of Treherbe, Man.: Mrs.
W. H. Owen, of Bowbelle, N. D. ; and
Mrs M. McMu►t-hie, in Washington
State Mr Lindsay was a prominent
member of the Presbyterian church
and since 1688 had been an elder. The
funeral took place on Monday sad
was largely attended, 'services being
conducted by Rev. 1). K. Grant. pastor
of Willis church. The pallbearers
were members of the ees,ion—Jas.
Scott, J. NValkin,haw, W. Taylor, J.
Cunningham., 1). McEwen and W. G.
Smyth. The old settler are feat pass-
ing away. and we believe Fred Tehbutt
is now the only one left who came in
about the time the Lindsay family
moved to this township. To the
widow and family deep eymnetby is
expressed by the widecircle of friends.
