Some Important Matters Dealt With at Regular Meeting. • The regular meeting of the town council was held on Friday evening, All the members were present except Deputy Reeve Clark. An iwpo. taut matter brought before the council was the protion of Rice -Knight, Limited. of Toronto, to locate their busine.s in (ioderich. The matter was referred to the special committee. The Mayor proposed the formation of an industrial committee, to be com- posed of men who take an active in- terest in the advancement ache town, for the purpose of securing new indus- tries for the town. The council passed a resolution ask- ing the Dominion Government to build an addition of at last 8011 feet to the southwest breakwater. It will be represented to the Government that this addition is neceerary for the prop- er protection of shipping in the har- bor. A letter from Mr. Middlemist was read, advising immediate application for the renewal of the charter of the Ontario' West Shore Railway. Mr. Proudfoot will be asked to attend to the matter before the Legislature. .
