ing in St. Helens public ballots Friday,

met on February 10th. Members all
present. Minutes of last meeting read
and passed, on motion of Councillors
(turtle and Irwin. The tender of The
Wingham Times for the ordinary
township printing for the current
year, being the lowest, was accepted,
on motion of Messrs. Irwin end Stone-
house. R. Vanetone, barrister; Wing -
ham, was appointed township solicitor
for the present year. The auditors'
report and treasurer's abstract tor 1912
were received and read. The same
were adopted and a motion was passed
that the auditors be peid aa usual

An oyster supper witi held lest Fri-
day evening at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. A. W. Young, Nile, it being the
minuet celebration of the Nile tbresb-
fog syndicate. A very enjoyeble time
was spent. Mr. and Mts. Young
make a delightful host and hostess.
It is seven years since the syndicate
was formed and it has worked suc-
cessfully and harmoniously ever since.

Notes from the Legislature.
In the Legislature the address in
reply to the speech trout the Throtte
was moved by A. H. Musgrove, the I
member for North Huron.
Among the questions which beve
teen asked of the Ministers was one
by Mr. Preudfoot, member for Oentre
Huron, asking the reason for the die -
nested of the license inspector of
Centre Huron. In the absence of the
Provincial Secretary Hon. Mr. Retool.
replied that he was removed for not
discbarging his duty. Tbe chairman
of the license board, he said, bad
reargued. The Department had no
knowledge of the religions why Michel
Farr, of Godericb, was refused a
license.
