FAREWKLL PRttsENTATtoN. -On Fri-
day night of last week a large gather-
ing of over a hundred assembled at
the home of Wm. Glazier for a fare-
well party. Dancing was the favorite
amusement of the e% -ening. Others
who would not or could not dance
played cards or indulged in conversa-
tion. About midnight supper was
served and efterw-ards Mr. and Mrs.
Glazier were pie.ented with two
chairs and an eddresat read by Chas.
McNeil. Mr. Glazier. though taken
by surprise, answered in a neat s h
and thanked his friends for their kind-
neae and goodwill. Mr. (:lazier is
moving into town very soon and will
take up his residence on Albert street.

gram is being prepared. Admission

Jas. Culbett, of Crewe, hes returned
from the West, where he spent the
last three months. He has taken a
homestead and will return to the
West early in the spring.

versary services will be held in the
Methodist church next Sunday, when
Rev. Mr. McKinley, of Lucknow, will
preach. On Monday evening there
will be a fowl supper and a concert.

having been secured.
DEATH OF MI88 DISHEe.-After a
long illness the death of Miss Diana
Dreher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Thos. Disher. occurred on Monday,
November 18th. The funeral took
place on Wednesday,,tbe services be-
ing conducted by Rev. J. E. Hunter,
assieted by Rev. G. Gomm and Rev.
Thor. Young. The pallbearers were
B. J. Crawford, Albert Maine, John
Howatt, Fred Robinson, Alex. Pent-
land and N. F. Whyard. Besides ber
patents, the deceased leaves s brother,
Adrian Disher, and s sister, Mrs. (Dr.)
Case, to all of whom the ymp.'hy of
the community is extended.

Schnenbals and family left on Tuesday
foe their new home at Clinton, where
Mr. Schoenhals bee purchased the
flour mill and will operate it. On
Saturday evening a large number of
neighbors and friends gathested at
their home to tender a formal but
hearty farewell. A pleasant time
was spent in games and music and
during the evening Mrs. Schoenhals
was presented, on behalf of the ladies
of the village and vicinity, with •
silver butter -dish and knife and a
silver fisb-fork. The A. Y. P. A
presented Mies Rc ,ells with • leather
handbag and gold watch -fob, Miss
Margaret with a mon ru hatpin,
and Master Melvin with a stickpin.
The same evening at a meeting, of the
Foresters, Mr. Schoenhals was
presented with a baodsoene tnorrie
chair. After living in the village for
sixteen years, the Schoenhals family
will he missed here very much. We
all wisb them every success in Clinton.

Suicide Near Seatorth.
Seaforth, Noy. 20, -Mise Margaret
Lendshorougb, daughter of Mrs. Jas.
Landsborougb, of Tuckersmith town-
ship, committed suicide last evening
by drowning herself, in a barrel of
water. Sbe had been despondent for
some time and was being carefully
watched, but inanaged to get away
from the house yesterday, and was
found dead a few minutes later in a
barrel of water near the house. Cor-
oner Dr. J. G. Scott decided an in-
quest was unnecessary. it being a clear
case of suicide.
