MAN Sin, -Although unknown to
ou 1 am taking the liberty of for-
warding you a Plymouth paper con-
taining an accoent of our golden wed-
ding nu the 1',.h September Tait. We
were married os. the 16th September,
1883. by the Ret-. H. J. Roberta, A. B..
of Bayfield, who drove in one morning
about 9 o'Moek at a friend's house for
the Rev. B. L. Elwood, our vicar of
• George's church, to which we be-
longed, the Rev. Elwood being away
at the time on bis holidays.
1 was one of the boys of Goderick
for some years and well known. R.B.
W,Iltams, Esq., of Toronto, late man-
ager of the Canadian Bank of Com-
merce in your lovely town, visited me
tome years since ani we have since
kept up a correspondence with lettere
or newspapers. He tells me of tbose 1
here enquired about that they are all
gooe. 1 have a son second officer on
one of the lake steamboats, and they
bad to put into Goderich once on a
time on account of tough weather.
My son and Mr. Williams [net by ac-
cident and be introduced my son to
Mr. Jew. Wright of Point Farm hotel,
and Mr. Butler, who remembered me.
1 was a well-known member of the
fire brigade and a member, of the band
-Mr. (afford (baker). captain 1
took on the British 1zcban a hotel,
andoff will sae my name in the trode-
rich Illustrated Signal Star of 1889 as
little Billie Yeo, proprietor. I also ran
a 'bus and baggage wagon in eon-
nection with the hotel end the railway
station and steamboats. there was
also • Mr. Stotts. baroessmaker, who
ran a 'btu in opposition. It was not a
paying job tot Iwo. 1 also attended
funerals with the 'bus, for there was
no hearse or funeral carriages in my
day.
My people wanting me home, 1 ad-
vertieed the lot for sale in the papers.

Mr. Tomas Johns, of the township of
Colborne. who is not with us now. but
the sow, lir. Nathan Johns, is still the
owner of tbe place, which be was
raised on, about seven miles from
Goderich. My wife has been back to
Canada to see ber parents on two dif-
ferent occasions. When 1 Left Gode-
rich I promised to be back in three or
four months' time, but have not been
able to nsaaage it. on account 01 losing
both my parents within tout teen
mouths of each other and • big busi-
ness to look after ; but i live in hopes.
After many years of to11 and worry I
have laid down the tools and now take
it quietly, as you will see from the
paper 1 send you.

Mr. Yeo in a postscript says that it
is a joy for bias to think, write and
talk over the very happy days he
spent in Godericb. "I could go on

A well -attended meeting of the A.
Y. P. A. of 8t. George's church was
held on Tuesday evening and was
marked by a debate ou the subject of
woman suffrage- The right of women
to exercise the franchise was champ-
ioned by Miss Edrie Tye and Harold
Blackstone, and opposed to them were
Miss G 1 ad y s Eliot and A. Roy
Adams. The speeches were all good
and were followed with much inter-
est. After the formal debate the sub-
ject wds throwu open for general dis-
cussion, and a few took part briefly.
The decision of tbe judge* (Rev. J. B.
Fotberingham, J. G. (eddes. and Mies
LeTouzel) was in favor of the advo-
cates of woman suffrage.
