Death of Rev. Neil Shaw.
The death of Rev. Neil Shaw, B. A.,
of Eguiondville, which occurred on
Tuesday of last week. removed one of
the well known micisters of the Pres-
bytery of Huron. The following ref-
erence to the lamented event is from
The Seaforth (expositor :
it was with feelings of deep and
sincere sorrow that the people of this
community learned on Tuesday night
and Wednesday of the death of Rev.
Neil Shaw, the beloved pastor of Eg-
moodville Presbyterian church. Mr.
Shaw passed away a little atter seven
o'clock Tuesday night. Although this
r;sult was not unexpected. the an.
nouucement of the death was a severe
shock to many. As has already been
announced in these columns, Mr.
Shaw took sick while visiting a friend
in 8t. Catharines some weeks •go.
His case was [ben considered critical.
But he rallied sufficiently to permit of
his coming home and it was then
hoped by his tt ienda that the change
for the Netter would be permanent.
This, however. was not to be. On
Sunday last he was subjected to an op-
eration which. it wart hoped, would
afford relief This, however, revealed
a condition of affairs which rendered
recovery impossible and the end came
about as exp. Heel. Mr. Shaw had been
suffering rr nn !his ailment for some
years and hood been prostrated by it on
several occa-ions. Mr, Straw was just
in the prim.- of life, being only a few
months tinder fifty-five yea.a of age.
He was a ',wive of Essex county and
was edncaled at Toronto Univer sit y
and Kao: College. Before coming to
Egmondville he was pastor at Tilbury
for four pats. He mai an earnest
preacher, and au indefatigable worker,
who Dever wearied in well doing, and
who cnnekler ed no personal sacrifice

deared himself to his congregation as
