Teeswater on Wednesday last Menno
Vincent and a friend had the misfor-

James Chisholm, councilman, de-
serves credit for the way he has lev-
elled and bevelled the road from Dun-
lop north tor nearly a mile. The road
is now second to none in the town-
ship.

boypo, is now a full-fledged engineer,
at lying his own engine. He deserves
great credit, as he ie not yet of age
and, as is well known, the road to the
top in railroading is mostly up grade
with heavy work and long hours. We

DKATH OF MR8. ANDERSON. -
One by one 1 be pioneers of West
Wawanosb are passing away. One of
the earliest comers of these, Mrs.
Elizabeth Andenoo, relict of the late
Arch. Anderson, missed to ber rest at
the hone of her daughter, Mrs. Hill, in
Milton. Mn. Anderson knew the
trials and difficulties and algin the joys
of pioneer life in the early days,
having come some sixty yeah ago as a
young bride with ber husband, end
settled on the bush farm in West
Wawanosb, now the home of her son,
J. D. Anderson. She was a woman
of sterling, consistent Christian char-
acter and possessed in a marked degree
courage, cheerfulness, sympathy and
kiuduess, and was always willing to
lend a helping band to those in need.
Retiring from the farm some years
ago, she, with her husband, resided
about five yeah in the village of Luck -
now, and later with her daughter in
Milton. She leaves behind her a
grown-up family of eons and daugh-
ters, only two of whom, Arch. and
Joseph, now reside in Wawanosh.
The funeral, which was largely at-
tended, took place on Friday, July
19th, from the old farm home for St.
Helens cemetery, the funeral services
being conducted by Rev. Mr. Mcin-
tosb, of St. Helens.

DEATH OF ALBERT ANDERSON. -
Alter an illness of several mouths
Albert Anderson passed away on
Thursday July 25th, at the home of his
mother on the Beytield line. The
remains were interred in Bayfield
cemetery on Sunday afternoon.
Deceased had been homesteading
in the West the past three years.
His aged mother and seven brothers
survive. Lew and Ben residing in this
township, the others in the %Vest.
Well-known Klncard;ne Man Dead.
Kincardine, Aug. ft. -The funeral of
Win. Brick, proprietor of the Royal
hotel, who died on Sunday following
a short illness, will take place to the
cemeter here on Wednesday after-
noon. Mr. Brick was born in Gaspe,
Quebec, about forty-eight years ago
and prior to coming to Kincardine was
a traveller for several Toronto woole-
sale houses.
