Field Day Sports.
The field day sports were run off on
Saturday afternoon and Monday
evening. They were held on the ramp
grouode to the east of the Y. M. U. A.
tent and were carried off very success-
fully. The weather less ideal. Many

An incident in camp late Thureday
atternoon camped great excitement.

Godericb, raided the canteens and
seized eleven kegs of liquid refresh- w
ntents which were supposed to be
somewbat less innocuous than "local
option beer." The officers were
quickly surrouoded by several
hundred soldier% who atternped to
capture the confiscated kegs, and
actually managel to pinch two of
them from the wagon on which they
were being carried out of camp. The

He arrived in his private car attached
to the rnidnight G. T. R. train on Fri-
day inspected the camp next morn-
ing, and left town on the 2:40 train in
the afternoon.
At 1 o'clock be was edtartained at
luncheon at the Hotel Bedford, where
members of tbe town council and
other citizens gathered to meet him.
The Minister wee acoompanied by In-
spector -General Otter, Col. liodgins,

Col. Hughes expressed his pleasure in
visiting Goderich and intimated filet
