The Guelph Excursion.

ed to be tried by the Judge and
then pleaded guilty to the charge pre.

Death of Harry D. Reed.
Last Sunday morning Harry D.
Reed entered into rest. et bis home on
Brock street. Ilia death followed an
illness extending over two years.

ception of eight years after his
marriage, which time was spent in

he was honored with the position of
District Deputy Grand Master, retir-
ing from that position five years ago
last Januarv. In .addition to his
mother, Mn. Henry Horton, of town,
he is survived by his wife and one son.
Harry. The funeral took place on
Tuesday afternoon and was under
the auspice. of Huron Lodge. No. 02,
I. O. O. F. Rea. George E. Rose,
deceased's pastor, conducted the
service at the house, and .t the
graveside the impressive burial service
of the Order was conducted by Rev.
J. Pollock and F. F. Lawrence.

departed brother had performed
throughout his district . and in his

Holt are attending the annual meet-
ing of the Synod of the Anglican dio-
cese of Huron, in session at tondo*

elected president of the London Con-
ference. Rev. G. N. Hazen, formerly
of Goderieh, received a good vote, be-
ing third in the list.
At the morning service in Knox
church next Sunday Rev. !Geo. E. Rom
will speak on "The Courage of Faith,"
and in the evening his subject will be
"Christ and the Military Officer."
Among the ministers who received
ordination at the meeting of the Lon-
don Conference at St. Thomas wbich
has fust been concluded was Rev.
Arthur W. Brown, who has been in
charge of the Benwiller circuit of the
Methodist church during the past
year and who goes back to that sta-
tion for another year. Mr. Brown has
been very zealous in the prosecution of
his work at Beamiller and his oou-
tinued success is confidently looked for
as a result of his able end diligent
efforts.
Last Sunday morning members of
Court Goderich, No. 38, C. O. F., se-
compauied by visiting brethren from
Clinton and Banmiller lodge s,
marched to the Baptist church. where
tbey were addressed by the pastor,
Rev. J. Pollock. Tbe speakers text

King." The speaker showed that the
three great principle* adopted by the

George's church. Tbe most exciting

first innings few thought that the
game would end a tie. With not 1
