Mn. Caldwell, of Cleveland, Ohio took particular pains in showing t possibilities of re -flashing floor woodwork with Chi-naeL The proc res of graining and finishing aroused ;seat deal of interest, and lin simple it that the most icen xperieoed perso can do exceptionally fine work. lib surprised the onlookers by poundin a piece of varnished fioot with a ham mer, and boiling it in water, leaving the varnish in perfect condition. Another feature of the demonstra- tion wan the serving of very eatable biscuits and Quality Store Moca Java coffee. These biscuits were baked on a Detroit gasoline vapor stove. Mr. Kuhn, the demonstrator of these stoves, thoroughly oonvinced all that gasoline is the proper thing for the summer stove when controlled in a Detroit vapor stove. His firm backs him up in the statement be made rev. oral times that they would give $50 to anyone that could explode their stove. He lighted the live gasoline in the tank, and showed what s saving it is in having the fire close up to the work, end having no wicks or,extra expense on the stove to keep it in working or- der. Several of these staves have been in use for years about town, and by the way sales were made at the dem- onstration and since by the Howell Hardware Co. a great many more peo- ple will have them before the season is over. in all the Howell Hardware Co. re- port this combioed demonstratien was a great success, and their only regret is that many more did not know about it, as it seems that many did not hear of it in time. e e se of e >>e and m a ie n e R North Huron and South Huron All the hotel lieaow in the district of North Huron were renewed Mr the year oommenefng May 1st, as follows : Wirers—J.
