of preparation for the ministry-,
or a total loss of sixty-five men in
tree years. If we add to these the

will be seen that our colleges are not
graduating enough men to keep the
ranks full, to say nothing of adequate-
ly supplying the increasing demand
for men to occupy our new fields.
Hence the church ie not receiving a
fair return for the amount of money
thus expended. This is apparent
when we note that last year Mont-
real graduated eight Dieu, Queen'r
three, and Knox seventeen, It was
recommended : 1st --That the repes-
sentatives of the Presbytery at next
Assembly support the Policy ot the 1t.

Ctuldr•en's Lay as a stimulus to Sun-
day school work.

the congregation is ready to do so.
