of evergreens and rose. The bride,
entering the parlor leaning on the arm
of her father, looked charming in a
gown of cream taffeta Ione with trim-
mings of over -lace, and carried white
carnations and fetus. The niatrimon-
iai knot was tied by Rev. J. C. Fergu-
son, of Belgrave. After congratula-
tions were over, the bridal party led
the way to the diniugromn. where a
sumptuous wedding dinner was Delved

gift to the bride was a handsome
brooch set with pearls. and • pearl
ring to the organist. In the evening
a reception was given to eighty
friends of the yovng couple, and the

DRATH OF MRS. SMITIL-Tbe death
et Mrs. Susan Smith, widow of the
late Rev. John Smith, occurred at her
home in Lucknow on Sunday evening,
January 7th. She was sixty-eight
years of age. Death followed a pare -
lytic stroke which she sustained only„
a few dive previously and atter whice
she never regained consciousness.
Mos. Smith was one of the best-known
figures in the village. Her second
husband, Rev. John Stnith, died three
years ago andetince tbat time she had
lived in comparative retirement. The
funeral took place on Tuesday after -
non to Greenhill cenuetery.
