MR. FINoL.tNlo'N ADDRESS. — Will
Fingland, a student of Toronto') Univer-
sity, occupied the pulpit of Knox
church Sunday evening and spoke in
the interests of Knox College home
mission work. Durinv last summer
Will was engaged in mission work
among the miners at Gow•ganda, and
in a splendid address he set before his
bearers the story of the " pilot's " life
in these outlying districts very vividly.
Without any attempt to wake the
student missionary appear too heroic.
he pictured accurately the adverse
circumstances in whirls he has to
work. Although there are a great
many discouragement, Lind the ground
on which the seed is sown is apparently
stony, Will bas faithenough to
believe that h fruit will lie borne
as a result of the missionaries' labor,
and on those grunnds he appealed to

hostess. husband' and wife. The
wedding march wits played by Miss
Maud Jackson. cousin of the bride, as
the wedding party took their places
under a Christmas hell and before a
bank of fiowere, the bride being given
away by ber father. The ring -bearer
was little Edna May Jackson, the
bride's niece. The bride wore a very
becoming costume of silver grey silt,
and canted a bout,uet of white car•
nations and maidenhair ferns, Altont
thirty guests were present, the
immediate relatives. After hearty
congratulati)ss a sumptuous supper
was served, followed by town
r esponied to by the ofeiatioQ clergy-
man, J. Scarlet, MCKillop; W. Jack.
son, Blyth, and Mr. Hell. of Barrie.

weeks ago. We are pleased that our
D eighbothood is not to loot Mr. Horn,
who some time ago sold his farm in

COLBORNE TOWNSHIP COUNCIL
Members Take Their Seats and 'Com-
mence the Year's Business. •
The statutory meeting of Colborne
township council was held in the
township hall on londay. All the
members were present and signed the
necessary declaration of office and
property qualification.
Reeve Kernighro and Councillors
Bisset, Chisholm, Halliday and
Hetherington then took their seats.
The Reeve opened the meeting by
addressing a few ret::arks to the
council. He pointed out his dunes as
Reeve, and said he hoped the business
for the year would he done openly
and at the board. With regard to
the two new members of the council,
he thought that with the wisdom and
)ears of Mr. Bisset and the youth of
Mr.Hetberiogton to guide them every-
thing would be well for 1912.

1 o'clock.
