the auspices of Hackett's church
proved a success. Atter partaking' of
the roast fowl and other dainties
which the Ladies abundantly provided,
the gathering crowded to the auditor-
ium, where another treat was in store
by way of a program given by the
Lueknow choir, which entertained the
gathering for the evening with
choruses', duets and recitations. The
proceeds of the evening amounted to
nearly flfty4wo dollars.

Hayden to celebrate the twenty fifth
anniversary of the wedding of the
bort and hostess. -among those in
the gathering were t he bridesmaid
and groomsman of twenty-five years
ago -Mrs. Tho.. Dougherty (formerly
Miss Bennett; and Frank Hayden,'
both of whom still live in this neigh-
borhood. After • sumptuous supper
touts were drunk, that of the bride
and groom being proposal by H.
Morris, of Ooderieh, and Wm. Gray.
The groom in his response spoke of
the pleasant associations which he
had enjoyed with his neighbors and
friends in the hat twenty-five years.
The toast to the ladies brought
speeches from Frank Hayden and
John Simpson. The remainder of the
evening was spent in games and
music. The gathering did not break•
up until the wee, sons' hours, when
all repaired to their homes wishing
the host and hostess continued hap-
piness and hoping to be present at the
celebration of their golden wedding.
Mr. and Mrs. Hayden received many
beautiful gifts, including a handsome
silver tea service from the relatives.

and highly esteemed resident of West
Wawanoeh passed away on Tuesday
of last week. in the person of Mrs.

in Ireland in the year 1S'21t, but she
had been a rs•aident of this neighbor-
hood for over half • century. Her
husband died about seven yew ago.
She is survived by six children : James

to the St. Augustine cemetery on
