claimed David Parrish. of Ashfield.
He was born in Dttmfriesbire. Scot-
land. in the year 1810. He came to
Canada with his grandparents in 1S5(i.
They settled in Halton county and
moved to Ashfield in 1838. David
Parrish was married forty-one years
before the day of his death to Annie
Dickens. wbn ,.mut wives him with a
family nf.six sons and four deughte.s :
John, David. Mrs. MoDermid and Mrs.
Grant. of Ashfield: Mrs. McLeod, of
Auburn : George and Thomas. of
Saskatebewan ; R'h.rt. of Alberta.
and Minnie and Wilfred. at home.
He was a member of the township
council for some time. was one of the
most sociahk of men, and in hotline -se
his word was se gond as his bond.
He envied no man ant -thing. He was
a member of the Presbyterian church.
The funeral, one of the largest tater
seen in this community, took place on
Tuesday to Green 11111 cemetery,
Lucknow. The services were con-
ducted by Rev. J. 8 Hardie. The
fancily were all present except Robert.
The pallbearers were five sons and
