Ctnitity Clerk 1. ale attended the
funeral of the late Samuel Sweitzer,
Reeve of Stephen, on Fr iday last. The
internment was made in Crediton cem-
etery, and the funeral gathering was
one 4.f the largest ever seen in the vi-
cinity. Mr. Sweitzer lost his life the
result of being azcidentally shot while
out duck -shooting near Grand Hend.
He was one of the hest -known resi-
dents of Stephen, having been Reeve
of the townehip for several teems.

The Power Question.
A special meeting of tbe likierd of
Trade was Veld on Tuesday evening
. A great gathering is taking place in
Torouto this week -the Ecumenical
Conference of Methudiern. The Con-
ference oneete eve, y ten years and re-
presents worldwide Methodism. There
are five hundred delegateo, end many
hundreds besides will be present to
'witness the procenlings of the Confer-
ence. which continues for two weeks.
Mr. Borden has not yet made any
announcement as to the membership
of him Cabine•. The defe4ted Ministry
is still in office. clew ing up arrears of
bueiness, but will likely hand over tne
reins of power to the new Govsen-
ment in a few day,. It is expected
that, Mr. Boiden will he sworn in as
Prime Minister next sveek, and that
he will then announce the personnel
of his Ministre.
