Rev. Robert Moffatt, M. D., a former Turnberry boy, who has beeo engaged in missionary work to Africa, is home on furlough and is visiting at his cid home, near Wroxeter. The death of Florence Campbell, the little daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Allan Cameron, of Cranbrook, took place on Friday, 1&h inst., after a severe alums. The little one was in her third year. On Thursday, 15th inst., a pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of Mre.A. Sbeere, Exeter, when her daughter, Gertrude, was united io marry to Geo. H. Hockey. of Brant- ford. Rev. R. Hobl. officiated. Citizens of Seatorth were shucked on Tuesday morning of last week to hear of the death of Mr.. Jas. C. Reid. One of the oldest residents in the Seaforth district is dead in the person of Claus Kruse, wbo pawed away on Sunday, Ilth inst., aged ninety-two years. The deceased war a native of Germany, but came to Canada in 1840 and settled in Waterloo county. Fifty years ago he -,tame further west and settled at Egmondville, where he resided until his death. He is sur- vived by • family of six sons. The death of Wm. Egan took place in tbe Clinton hospital on Monday of last week after an operation for ap• peodiciti. bad been performed in the hope that his life might be saved. While an employee of C. Roever'e• Howirk township, was harrowing with three horses the other day. the animals started to run away.
