tant relatives reside in Idaho and the
Canadian Northwest. Mrs. A. A.
Whitten, an aunt, lives at t)7 Michi-
gan street, mild Mrv. Sadie Edmonds,
of 1)ettoitt D. i). Whitten, (-ouein, of
Lc.s Angeles ; rhe T. E. Reeder, of
Detroit, and Mrs. Norma Delezenne, a
sister-in-law, reside at 442 Grove
street. Mrs. Williams was a member
of the Emmanuel Episcopal church,
and, with her hushand, wa.an earnest
worker in all Christian endeavors.
The funeral services will be held on
Wednesday sfternoon at 2 o'clock.

BLYTH DEBATERS WIN. — Three
Toads from the Christian Endeavor So-
ciety drove over to Walton last Fri•
day evening to visit their sister Soci-
ety there and also to listen to a debete
between three members of their Soci-
ety and three 01 the Walton members.
The subject ot'the debate was. "Re-
solved, that Western Canada hat
more advantages than Eastern Oen-
ade." Although the Blyth members
had the weaker side, being on the
affirmative, they were the winners.
The Blyth debaters were Min Mc-
Arter, Mrs. McKenzie and A. W.
Robinson and the Walton representa-
tives were Messrs Dennison and
Thomas and Miss Gardiner. There

THE APPLE BUSINEetI.—R. R. Sloan,
who bas been engaged with the
Agency i nd and Security Co. of Tor-
onto, during the winter months, eas-
ing orchards in Huron, Bruce, Ghee
and other counties in the Province,
returned home last week and has been
assisting in pruning his father's or-
chard. On Monday he returned to his
farm in Goderich township to look
after his large orchard there, where
he has about sixty acres in orchard.
It is his intention to plant another
twenty acres this spring. Mr. Sloan
is a thorough believer iu fruit. and al-
though we hear so much of the fruit
men being opposed to reciprocity he
says differently, and as he has seen s
great many of the large fruit men dur-
ing his travels he ought to be a good
authority. He claim* it will be a good
thing for apple growers.

pretty wedding took place in Wawa -
nosh at the bome of Mr. and Mrs. D.
Dunbar last Wednesday, when their
daughter, Miss Annie, was united in
mare-isge to A. Barr, of Hullett, by
Rev. R. A. Miller, of Auburn. The
bride was given away by her uncle,
A. W. Dunbar, of North Dakota, and
wag prettily dressed in white, carry-
ing. a bouquet of carnations. The
mother of the groom played the wed-
ding march. The grooms present to
the bride was is handsome necklace of
diamonds. After the ceremony the
Company; to the number of forty-five,
sat down to a sumptuous repast, after
which the guests spent an enjoyable
evening. The happy couple are going
to tate Dunbar homeateaJ. as Mr. Dun-
bar is in poor 'health. The presents
received were beautiful and costly,
showing the high esteem in which Mr.
and Mrs. Barr are held.
