Rob Clark. son of l)r. W. F. Clark,
V: S., met with a serious accident on
Saturday evening. He was s'teigb-rid-
ing with other boys down the. hill
'above the golf grounds, when the
sleigh broke in the middle and tone of
the parts ran into his leg near the hip,
making a very severe wound. Ile
was taken home on a sleigh, and two
Boy Scouts who went with him gave
splendid assistance in rendering first
aid, showing the practical benefit of
the instruction wbicb they had been

pleasant event took place at Clinton
on Wednesday, November 30th, when
.1. R. Linklater, son:of John Linklater,
of Leeburn, took to himself 'abride in
the person of Mise Lillian 1. Blatcb-
ford, of the township of Usb rile. The
marriage ceremony was perforfned by •
Re.. J. Greene at his residence. Mr.
and Mrs. Linklater will reside in the
beautiful new house which the groom
has erected on his farm on the Lake
Shore road south of Dunlop. Mr.
Linklater is one of our brightest young
men, and his bride was formerly a
school teacher to the adjoining section.
The young couple haZ-e the congratu-
lations and best wishes of a large
number of friends, who are glad to
see Roy settled down so near the old
home and pleased to welcome Mrs.
Linklater back to thie community.
THE LATE MRN. TAYLon.-One of
the most respected residents of this
neightx,t•hood rimmed to the world be-
yond on Monde, 2Sth ult., when
MCP. Taylor, wife of James Taylor,
succumbed to a paralytic stroke after
a few days' illness. Her husband and
I, family of two daughter* and one
eon survi.i : Herbert and Miss Edna
are et Vancouver, B. C., and Miss
Annie is tot biome. Mrs. Taylor was
a member of Leebuen Presbyterian
congregation and Was a valued
worker in the church. The funeral
took place to Colborne cemetery on
Wednesday. Rev. Janie. Hamilton
conducting the w^vices and John
Linkletet, E. N. Shaw, Jos. Cook and
John Hunter acting am pallbearers.
