moment's warning, one of the plates
in the chopper burst. Otte 'of the Hy-
ing pieces struck Elliott on the right
arm about halt -way between the el-
bow and the shoulder. c8mpletel
severing it. Another piece struck
him on the right leg just above the
knee and glancing upwards inflicted a
severe gash in his abdomen.'" The un-
fortunate man was removed immedi-
ately to his home. where an operation
was performed in the hope that his
life might he saved. but the shock and
the lord of blood which he suffered
were too touch for his constitution
and he passed away early Sunday
morning. He leaves :t wife and a km -

mourn his -ridden departure. •
