maturer years, drove down to the
beach of old Lake Huron last Friday
evening and -ppreparations were made
on a large scale for a corn toast. Three
or four bonfires were soon lighted. and
the fun commenced. Some of the
party prefer•rel their corn roa�ppted and
w with much scorching of Rces and
limiting of fingers managed to roast
some id the sets. while Oneet t.het pre -
fared boiled cora ...on had n couple
,if pots boiling mei oily on one of the
huge tires. A reverend gentleman of
town :and his wife were of the com-
pany and seemed to enjoy themselves
quite us well As any of the young folk.

bility over the affair. About mid-
night the party of about thirty tired
but rneri v people returned to their
homes, all agreeing that they had
spent a very enjoyable time together
