A Three Weeks' Trip on 'Lake Huron
in Capt. Lawson a Yacht.

The harbor looked very pretty. The
reflection of the trees in the water

the trees above. The water is sol clear
up here fist the rock bottom is dis-
tinctly visible at considerable depths.

could only draw its water supply from

eruise sot far. As it was Mr. Morri-
son's custom to st ty below it greater
part of the morning, no anxiety was
felt when he was not on deck. How-
ever, further search revealed the start-
ling fart that he had disappeared.
We anxiously scanned the waters of
the lay astern, but he evidently had
not fallen overboard. We immedia-
tely returned to the dock and institu-
ted a search ashore for the missing
sailor. We were much relieved to
find hint in the linin -roost of the
hotel almost hidden from view by
shredded wheat biscuit and hard -
bxoiled eggs and agreeably employing
his spare time until a more correct
hour at which to call upon snore of his
friends. After some difficulty we per-
sr(adll him to come aboard again and
the cruise was resumed.

The New Buildings.
The new machine shop is 13x11.1
feet, with a gallery along one sides
Chas. Heid had the contract for the
brickwork and D. McLaren looked
after the Outten -work, etc. The
machinery will to a great extent be
removed from its present location in
the old church building. New
machinery will also be added and the
equipment will be complete and
modern A ten -ton travelling crane

stalled within the next week. An air
compressor has already been put in
and hereafter a great deal of the work
will he done by pneumatic hammers,
chisels and drills.
The hlarksmith shop, 411x11.( feet,
is of reinforced concrete, for which
Geo. Habsel hal the contract. Some
of the machinery has already been in -
malted. Perhaps the moat interesting
machine is the steam hammer, which
can easily do the work of a wore

Goldie -McCullough engine of the
Wheelock type has been placed. A
dynamo mappable of aupplying current
for 21.1 incandescent lamps is being
installed,

Work on the new broiler shop on the
lot adjoining the old saltworks prop-
erty was started laza week and al-
ready the new concrete foundation is
completed. Geo. Babel has the con.
tract for the cement work .and this
week lout his mixer in position. The

feet higb, the roof then slanting in I()

ing from the Grand Trunk will enter

room in connection, 40x01 feet, was

Seale of the Work on Hand.
At tete Works three large "Minot
fur" engines intended for logging pur-
pose,'
nrpose,' are nearly ready for shipment
to Vancouver. These boilers and en-
gines are shout :III h . p. and are Owed
in hauling lags front the forest to the
river. They are mounted on 'tn-foot
Aide and can move them VPIvPs
through the woods, hence the name.
These three make a total.ef eight
machine., which have been con-
structed for the British Colombia
lumber trade.

engine for a stern wheel boat. is being
built for the Northwest i,umher Co.,

win, Alberta.
