A shockingly sudden death was that
of W. J. F'ergueon. of Stratford,
which occurred on Tuesday evening
last. Up to Mondry evening Mr. Few
guson was in his usual health. He
was attacked with arid« indigestion
while in his office and shortly after-
ward web removed to his home. 1!e
rallied, lett only temporarily, amt died
early Tuesday evening. Mr. Fer-
guson was fifty -right years of age and
was one of Stratford's leading dry -
goods tuercbants. He was a promin-
ent Methodist, and on the Illth of Fel-

The Summer Hotel.
The town council had an adv ise-
ment inserted in a number lit pa rs
asking for a !nein. for the summe
hotel for a tat m of one, two or th
years, at a nominal rental, and has
received a good man replies, and a
special meeting of the council was
held Inst night to deal with the mat-
ter. 1l was derided to draft a circular
letter giving full information of the
history of the hotel and the present

cant On motion of Messrs. Stun-
ning. and Dean. it was decided in
asking foe tenders fur patching the
roof ofthe summer hotel, to include
tate covering of the tower, and a mo-
nition was pegged, on motion of Coun-
cillon ('raigie and Jordan, that the
c4utncil put in a suitable way to the
beach near the summer hotel. Coun-
cillor Jordan also bed a suggestion to
remove the 'tithing house to the
beach below the hotel. but this did
not come to a vote.
The Greyhound Excursion.
