Good Work at the G. C. I.
Inspector J. A. Houston was in
(ioderich the fleet week of Mar':h
making his inspection of the work of
the Collegiate Institute and from his
reportit appears the work of the
school on the whole is very satisfac-
tory. Mr. Houston writes : “There
is a good slag in this school and the.
younger ,teachers give. pro,nise of
future excellence. The general run•
ditiou is much in advanrp of what it
was even at last inspectio, " Tne
wo(k of the teacher'* is given a high
grading and the pupil.' work also ie
considered good. More attention _has,
been given to reading and writing on
the curriculenelatterly than Ili -form-
er years and the report oto these sub-
jects is .good, especially in writing,
which is considered very go.xl. Mr.
Houston makes some suggestions,
sash es more laboratory accommoda-

a separate room for the typewriting
department, which would involve an
addition to the school building if car-
