Mee. Miner, a lady barn in G
rich, has shown by her recent gift
$50. and former gifts to the -hermit*
her continued interest in the work
being done, and the board takes this
occasion to thank her, and to place on
record its appreciation of her thought-
fulness and generosity.
The Mayor and council of the town
of (lulerirh are to be congraluleteJ

in making a grant of 0914) towards
the maintenance of the hospital. in
this manner showing their inters -t
and sympathy in this humane, meri-
torious and important work, end in
thanking thein for this liberal done.
tion the board trots that they will
not cease in well doing. but that they,
on the contrary, and each succeeding
council will repeat the grant by a like
or perhaps larger one.
The county council was waited upon
eat its meeting in January, 110ht. by
deputatione from the K'ingle ecu,
(io derich and ('linton hospitals, ask-
ing that important body for a grant to
each of theme hospitals of $400 for the
year 1900, they having generously
given that amount in 17108. The hoard
regrets to say that the county council
in Its wisdom could not nee its way to
make the grant called for, and instead
granted $100 to each of these three
hospitals. The hoard desires to ex-
press its thanks to the Warden and
minty council for the grant of VW,
and nosy express the hope that
in givint; the matter further consider-
ation they will at some future meet-
ing of their honorable body this year
increase the grant to $4455).
Tire hoard cannot fully expresses its
deep sense of gratitude to that noble
army of workers of behalf of the
hospital, the i)aughters of the Ent-
pire, who have rendered and who still
render such valuable assistance in
helping to maintain the hospital.
Without their aid the bored would
feel it well-nigh impossible to carry
ou the work, and we fully realise
that, were it not for the very neces-
sary help rendered by this devoted
and generous society-, the work ftf,,(be
hoepltal would not have leen so sail -
factory as it has leen. During the
year HAN this society has given
towards the heemitel eseodries-in tine
way of necessary furnishings to the
value of $90•33, and in caeh $15it.
This latter sum does not appear in the
receipts, as it was received since the
