Women's Institute.
The members of the Goderich
branch of the Wolnen'r Institute held
a very successful Meeting at the home
of Mrs. W. T. Murney, The- attend-
ance was large, about forty-eight
ladies being present. The program
for the afternoon consisted of very In-
teresting readings given by Mee. Ham-
ilton. Miss e"rtes and Mrr. Miller.
The next meeting will be held at the
home of Mr's. Tretbewey on Thursday
evening, March 4th, as an at home
for members and friends.
Fire at Cameron & Moores,

to exting'rish a blaze at Cameron A
Moore's departmental store. The blaze
started in the basement book of the

considerable damage. The larger'
part of the stock was injured to some
extent by smoke and water. The firm
had insurance on the stock, bet had it
not been that the fire was put out

Town Loses Appeal.
The Di vieiooal Court at Toronto has

is the case in which Miss Isabelle

First Horse Market on Tuesday.
The first of the Monthly horse
markets in Goderich will be held on
euesdey next. Dr. Clerk, the

for a large number of horses being
brought here are excellent. P.artic-

Electric light users have found their
bills for Jauuary unusually high, and

commissioners point out, in the first
place, that the metres were read on
