CHURCH EnTERTAINMENT. -- The musical and literary entertainment given In the Methodist church on Wednesday evening was a grand sue- eess. The t'vehingg was fine, and the house was crowded. The readings and singing of Miss Bart, of Hensel', were highly appreciated. The Clinton male quartette, with Mrs. Treleaven as accompanist In their quartettes, duets and solos, wore than sustained their reputation as high-class singers, to the delight of the entire audience. Miss Maud Wiltse, of Clinton, added greatly to the evening'. enjoyment by singing in good voice two beauti ful and appropriate selections, while Miss Gertrude Chant, of Clinton, ac- compaoied bye her sister, delighted the audience by her Dusteey of classical music on the violin. Bailie is again in the fleld for the reeveship and is being opposed by Stephen Medd, who has been one of the councillors.
