CIIRIWFMAN ENTERTAINMENT. -The
entertainment given by the Smith's
Hill Sunday school in the townithip
hall on Wednesday evening last was a
great success. There was a full homer,
and a splendid program was given,
including dialogues, 'solos, recitations,
etc. Alex. Young. superintendent of
the school, presided, and Rev. J. H.
Mann gave a brief address. The

CHURCH EnTERTAINMENT. -- The
musical and literary entertainment
given In the Methodist church on
Wednesday evening was a grand sue-
eess. The t'vehingg was fine, and the
house was crowded. The readings and
singing of Miss Bart, of Hensel', were
highly appreciated. The Clinton
male quartette, with Mrs. Treleaven
as accompanist In their quartettes,
duets and solos, wore than sustained
their reputation as high-class singers,
to the delight of the entire audience.
Miss Maud Wiltse, of Clinton, added
greatly to the evening'. enjoyment
by singing in good voice two beauti
ful and appropriate selections, while
Miss Gertrude Chant, of Clinton, ac-
compaoied bye her sister, delighted
the audience by her Dusteey of
classical music on the violin. Every-
one took his or her part to the entire
satisfaction of those present and WO

W. J. Todd celebrated their crystal
wedding anniveaary on Monday with

In the afternoon the older people
gathered and had dinner at 5 o'clock,
and the young people had their inn-
ings in the evening, enjoying • dance
and supper. A feature of the pro-
ceedings was a Scotch reel by the
Misses McDonald, of Wingharn ;
Aaron Fitzell, of the Lucknow piperm.'

celebration was a very pleasant nffatr
and Mr. and Mrs. Todd, who are high-
ly esteemed in this community, have
the wishes of their many friends for
equally happy celebrations in future
years. The worthy couple received. a
large number of beautiful gifts in
honor of the occasion.

Methodist concert held in 'the Agri-
cultural Hall on Christmas night was
of unusual excellence. Every num-
ber on the ptograin was well given,
reflecting great credit on the children

Wm. Bailie is again in the fleld for
the reeveship and is being opposed by
