Heavy Rain's.
The rain of Friday tart will he re-
membered for some time as one of the
heaviest summer rains we havehad
here for years. It commenced about
:t o'clock Friday morning and contin-
ued until after :t o'clock in the after-
noon, a twelve hours' downpour.
Early Saturday morning there was a -
violent thunderstorm, with, vivid die -

far as we have heard the lightning did
no damagqce in this vicinity, and
although the growing grain was some-
