THE QUESTION OF THE SENATE.

were three propositions before the
Hous' : one by Mr. McIntyre (South
Perth• to reform the Senate : one by
Mr. Miller tSouth Grey to abolish it :
and the third by Mr. Lewis !West
Huron) to bake a plebiscite at the next
general elections on the question of
abolitiou or reform.
These who took part in the debaate
agreed that some change should be
made respecting the Senate, but be-
yond this upiniens differed widely.
