recent harn-raising at Jxruea Chis-
holm's, on the 1"burn farm!, was a
reminder of the Hight of time and of
the charoggeeas that are taking place with
the pawigg of the yearn. In the six-
ties the late James Strachan built the
ht1•n which formerly mfr«I on the site
now occupied by the new barn. It
had a woolen imtsement for startling
stock. This learn was destroyed in
191)•2 by fire started by a spark Islam a
threshing engine. George Fut(o)n
was the tenant at this time. Severial
months after the fire James Chisholm
bought the farm from \VDI. Strachan,
of IAmisville, Kentuckyy, and now,
five years later, the new learn is tieing
constricted on the old site. The mel
at the resent raising were almost en-
tirely a new generation come in mince
the former raising. J,tines Linklarer
was the only one of the company who
was present at the oriRincl mixing.
R. Fulford and Joseph Healy remen-
