The annals of the port of (it,drrich have been enriched 11y the manse of the Julia Larson. Thr Julia ).arson is asluall tw4-u.x*ted schooner, which after a voyage of about twu weeks from \Viartutl arrived off tealerch early Saturday evening, with a loud of lumber, lath and shingles for 1,1.- 09. Young. Capt. Jvmrs Mitchell: the skipper, found he Nati making but poor progress in his attempt to reach the hsrlor, so he and the mate (sone ashore in the yaw( (Mat to get the assistance of a tug. The &July person left on board Was a lad Mauled Larose, of Kincardine, who had been doing chores on the boat lot is nut a 'sailor. \\'hen the captain went out on the tug Horton, two hours or std after he had left his schooner, the vessel was not where he had anehoted her and as it had gut dark she could not be stern. After an ineffectual search the tug returned to port to await daylight, and on Sunday. the schooner not IM•lllg in sight,' two Digs. the Horton and the Evelyn. went out in :.ranch of her. They searched up and down dud all around, all da))', without suc- cess, but about. 6 o'clock in the evening the Evelyn located the runaway about twenty miles northwest of the harbor and towed it into punt. 1'h•• lad Larose hail )wen unable to do ,any- thing with the vessel except to work at the ; ps, and she had drifjtd help- lessly about at the men•y of the winds. Fortunately there was only a light breeze, or the consequences might have been different. The vessel meas left in the first place with ho little chain out, and, - the easterly breeze catching if, it dragged the anchor until deeper water was reached, when the anchor cleared the bottom :and the vessel Naas' left to drift. The lonely sailor evidently went to sleep. as he did not show any light when the tug went out in the evening. The pro"isi11tls on hoard consisted of part of a loaf 'of head and a few potatoes, but they were sufficient. The vessel Watt pretty heavily loaded and when found she had taken in a gond deal of water. Lt,•l'OI. Young and H. W. Thomism pnrr•hated the Julia Larson a short t IIIb ago.
