THE POWER SCHEME.
Submitted to Town Council Last IEven-

held last evening to receive a propoei•
tion trona the Maitland River Power
Co. The Mayor was in the chair, but
Councillors Blair, }iIliutt and Gold-
thorpe were the only other na'iiibet
on hand. There was a good audience
of citizens interested in the discussion
of the proposition. •
Dr. Holmes, president of the Mait-
land River Power Co., tidal -eased the
council and laid before it what he dr -
scribed as the greatest proposition
that haul ever thorn submitted to any
council of the town of liexlerich.

The report of ll. von Schott, De•

Maitland River Power t'o. to examine

pleted, and is an elaborately detailed
statement of the project. Mr. von
Schott's conclusions rax• : That the

available payer head for development
