of the old elevator was extiugaished

committee " put himself in communi-
cation with the General Manager of
the Grand Trunk Railway., and inti-
ated arrangements for a personal in-
terview, having for its object the erec-
tion of $ Lew elevator. Afterward!,
the town council was Interviewed, and
the mayor wee given a place on' the
delegation, the town agreeing to pay
all expenses, -minus transportation,
which was furnished by the G. T. R.
