CAMERON FOR WEST HURON.
THE nomination of the veteran M.
C. CAMERON tO :ontest West Huron
will be hailed with satisfaction by the
Liberals throughout Canada.
Humor had been rife that the old
parliamentarian would not again carry
the Reform banner in the riding, bat
much to the satisfaction of his friends
he has finally decided to once again face
the enemy, in the cause of good gov-
ernment.
This will be the fourth contest in
which Mr CAMERON hits taken part
since 1891, and had he been averse to
accepting the nomination on the pros
ent occasion ---as the legitimate ex-
penses of an ordinary election cam-
paign, where active opposition is pre-
senters, are by no means light, and es-
pecially in a debatable constituency
such as Rest Huron undoubtedly is -
hit course could easily have been de
fended. But in the interest of the
country he has put aside hie personal
feelings and accepted the nomination,
in the firm belief that Canada today
needs the best services of every pat-
riotic citizen in the coming contest.
There is every reason to believe that
the friends of the ()Id Chief will stand
by him again as they did in January
last. The issues are practically the
same as existed on that occasion, and
the constituent elements of the Con-
servative Government have not been
improved by the passing of HeweLL
and the advent of Tr erne.
Let every Liberal and every Con
servative who is not in accord with
the present Government determine to
work for the Reform candidate from
this onward, and so swell the majority
that this part of the Huron Tract will
send to Ottawa a man who can he de-
pended upon to give actual and effici-
ent support to Hon. W IL►Rt) LACR
IRR in the magnificient fight he is
making against the corruptioni.ts and
coercionista who now hold power at
Canada's capital.
