The oieasion was • vet from Mrs Fletch-

of Herm, numbering 21 in all, and lyier •
membership of 666. It is the aim of the
president to visit tame societies mice • year
end address them. Mrs. Fletcher is the
wife of Rev. Colin Fletcher, M.A.,
of the Thames Road ooagregataoe,
and is well adapted for her work. Sbe
speak. with graceful ease and fluency. Her
remarks bristle with points, rich in mimes -
Hemmen, lull of encouragement, and she
,ends you home with more enlarged .vmpa•
shies for Christian work, and with the cote
swoon that, •'i( you only tried," you could
be more useful, mors helpful to others, and
swoon plub more good in the field of mu-
etonary enterprise. Her address last eyen-
tag was listened to with much delight. She
touched on many points tektite to misii e
cry work ; spoke 1n ptwewortby terms of
the progress made by the W. F.M.S. from
its inception ; and noted the r'ra.t difference
between the first named meeting she •heed-
ed, about • dozen years ego, when ample
room was secured in the lecture hall of a
church, and the last annual meeting in To-
mato, when the largest Preppy torten church
win insufficient to accommodate the •ttetd-
ance at some of its sessions. She referred
at length to nutters suggested to herself by
what she saw .rid heard at the last annual
meeting, and laid particular emphasis on
the propriety of having • missionary column
in our great daily papers, and that this
should not be left altogether to the sporting
fraternity. By way of encouraging the
fearful and timorous, who shrink from tak-
ing part te the meetings, she insosoed
cases of some who solemnly declared "They
never could do it," who by dint of persever-
ance and resolution, came at leogth to be
quite pro6etent in the maa•gems.t of •
meeting. She closed her address by an
earnest exhortation to more entire oonesen-
tiou in the service of our Lord and Master.
A hearty vote of thanks. was tendered Mrs.
Fletcher for her admirable and profitable
address. Before the beoedicuom was pro-
nounced, Mrs. Anderson sang with much
