LIBEL SUITS IN GENERAL.

in Store formerly occupied by W.

A considerable portion has
been saved in a comparatively un-

gain hunters.
The Millinery Stock will open
this (Thursday) morning, under

Millinery has been mostly well
preserved, and will be replenished
so that the latest ideas can be had
at prices that must clear out the
stock.
The Importance - -
of Tailoring.
That to which mankind gives the most thought must be that which
is of the greatest interest, and the subject it thus distinguishes must be
of paramount importance. What this subject is no one can doubt, who
is familiar with the social conditions of civilization, for everywhere that
men are civilized the thought they give to clothes undoubtedly exceeds
in intensity that which they give to any other subject.
Man thinks of his Clothes
when
bathing or asleep, for they are always necessaryttoll hi comfort pt eon en-
ience and presentability. In the morning they demand his careful at-
tention ; if they are too warm or not warm enough at any time he can-
not forget them ; if they are comfortable he thinks of them with plea-
sure, but if they are not he execrates them , if they improve his ap-
pearance he admires them, but if they are unbecoming to hitt and he
knows it, he detests them. They concern him always. To *der them
is a serious business, but se to where to order them there need be no
doubt, as
PRIDHAM, THE TAILOR,
is up-to-date in his business and guarantees satisfaction in every par-
ticular.

That proverbial poor master has
visited our beautiful town and laid
low the Grand Opera House and
a portion of the business commun-
ity of the town. To thus, who
suffered, be it more or less, we ex-
tend the right hand of sympathy.
We were glad to see the manliness
the tirenien, citizens and business
men displayed. The latter worked
shoulder to shoulder in removing
whatever could he saved of the
stock of their unfortunate fellow -
merchants. Certainly they handled
the goods with as mut-h forethought
and concern as if tee gbnds were
their own. There was at no time,
in spite of the ruin and devastation
to the West of u., any danger in
this direction. \1'.• were very
