A Mystery Cleared Up.

rounding the disappearance of E A. Ben-
jamin, the well kuowii business man and
social favorite, has been cleared up.

letters from him stating that he is in New
York and that he will probably return to

of his disappearance is said to be a purely
domestic matter and hie friends are much

jamin's transactions with them were per-

peals has just decided a most important
case affecting the Richelieu and Ontario
Navigation Company. The Superior Court
granted the company 820.000 insurance un
the burning of the steamer Corinthian two
years ago. The company appealed from
this and awarded the toll amount claimed,
$40,000. with two year interest at 6 per
coot. and costs against the insurance com-
panies, sixteen of whom art tnterested.
