months past 'taus driver in connection with
A. M. I'olley's livery stable, was drowned
while bathing at the mouth of the river on
Sunday .1 tern -on •brut 3 o'clock. At the
pace where the fatality occurred deep
water prevails at • comparatively short
distanoe from the shore, and deceased lost
Isis footing and slipped into deep water,
whilst unable to swim. He rose twice but
sank finally before assistance could reach
him. Coroner Holmes, on hearing the
facts io the pare, decided that an m.lncst
was noneoesoary, and the body, white was
recovered by Colin Murray some two
hours after the drowsing, was taken to the
residence of the parents of the deceased
who lire on Polley's farm, (:oderich town-
