gravel at the lake thus year not being handy
the teams went to the township pit at Garf-
braid for it. The presence of other teams
belonging to another beat made the spare
rather small for all. After some debate of
the pat6muten for their right., a settle-
ment was made and the work went on very
well In future perhaps it would bo better
for pathmasters to arrange to have their
beats out on separate day* from each other
when going to the township pit.
Butter making here in L eburn, .0 many
of the farmhouses will soon be forgotten by

milk to the Goderich creamery. Arthur
Fulford, who drove the waggon here last
year has resumed the position and Monday
of this week the cheesefactory near Nile
start* up. So, in course of a few years'
time churning at the farms will be a rarity
to all. The churn will keep company- with
the grain cradle, which was swung around
by hand, in the lumber room of many a
farmhouse.
