W oorom, Feb. 27. -The members of
Humber Ma.osic Lodge, Weston, to the
n umber of 100, held an at borne last Wednes-
day evening In the lkidfellowi Hall. The
entertainment took place in the emend
story of the hulking.
The lodge num was formerly • Methodist
1•:ptseopel meeting house.
F. ur woo.iee pillars originally supporting
the upper floor of the church were removed,
and two iron trusses substituted. One of
these truss,-, became loosened, allowing the
walls to spread.
The catastrophe occurred at the concha
cion of the entertainment on the upper
door, and not as the guests were shoat to
betake tbemselve• to the refreshment rooms
below. While this was in progress the
flooring gave way in the middle, makig a
huge funnel, down which slut people and
furniture. Two stoves in fall blast at the
trine were promptly •xtiag.tei.ed by per -
toes prevent, and a huge piano near the
platform providentially remained in posi-
tion, otherwise the fatalities might have
been more numerous.
A fuller list of them injured is as fol
lows:
-Mr. Forsyth, 1.5 fractured.
Rev. John Locke, bead badly cut and
severe cut move right heel.
Henry Pearson, town councellor, both
bones of the left kg broken below the knee
