Roes will not be • candidate for Wust Huron at the sppruschrn1 general election. The Treu'irer baa represented this constitu- ency sinoe 187'x, throughout the whole period of his parliamentary services, and the connection bas brought honor and ad- vantage alike to the constituency and the representative. D. M. quite! nny, editor of Ti I: SI'.7 at, is spoken of as a possible staccato .r. From the Brussels Kee. It is stated, With a large degree of cer- tainty, that Hon. A. M. The Reform Convention for the West Riding of Huron will meet at the Tem- perance Hall, North -s•„ Goderich, on Monday, May 5th, .t 1 o'cicck sharp, to select a candidate to coolest the Riding at the ensuing election. Three deter/sites are allowed as the re- presentation for each polling sub -division in the Riding, and it is important that every pulling sub -division should be fully represented. We would also warn the electors that • brazen attempt to interfere with the freedom of Monday's selection has been made in at least one quarter by the 'ending out of circulars and by personal canvass by one of the aspirants, and we hope that such ungentlemanly c_nduct will be promptly frowned down by every delegate who attends the meeting. The Reformers of West Huron want no packed Convention, and any vitiate data who would resort to such a gutter- snipe policy deserves the back of the hand from the Reformers of West Hann.. The teats for candidature should be character lint ; then past service and political knowledge ; and then Potency [of p'atf orm utterance.
