Arthur Henry Newton Jenkins, who

'silting of in -inking an action against
editor Kerr, of the Bus

in reply to a bls:kguardly attack ma ie

latter was in jail for coutempt of court

most people of his kind, could not stand
Sre, and now assumes the air of an in-

redress in the courts. Poor fellowa,h.

The union school picnic which was an-
nounced to be held at the Point Firm
several weeks ago, and which had to be
postponed owing to the period of wet
weather which had intervened, was held
on Friday last, and was beyond doubt
the largest gathering ever brought to-
gether on the Point Farm grounds, ful-
ly l,bCO being present. From 9 a.m.
until 2 .m., Maiden Lane wan crowded
with holiday beakers, some on foot, some
en horseback, some iii single buggies,

grounds big and little, old and young,
rich and pcor, grave and gay ; there
