moniously ; he was not encumbered hy
debt to any serious extent, and has not
shown signs of derangement in mind.
Two suits of clothes, two cape and sixty
dollars constitute his paraphernalia. He
is about 45 years of age and ''low -set,'
somewhat stout

Rev H. Irvine, of the Nile, occupied
the pulpit ,f Rev W. F. Campbell on
Sabbath evening. There was a large

ence wee made in our lot, departed this
life on the Monday, the 14th info., be-
tween twelve and one o'clock, p m. He
leaves a widow five years alder than him-
self. his age being eighty-one They
hare been permitted to enjoy each oth-
er's c,tnpany for upwards of fifty years.
The widow, relatives and family harp
the sincere sympathy of the community.
We are favored with pleasant, mild
weather and good roads. which is un-
usual for the month of January ; excel-
lent wheeling.
The week of prayer was concluded nn
Friday evening last ; the attendance
each evening being large. showed the in-
terest taken and felt in the exercises,
which were conducted respectively by
Revs W. F. Campbell and D. G. Came-
ron.

Mr Elliott was called upon to give hie
experience in silos for winter -feeding.
He sowed four or five acne on sod in
drills three feet apart, and if softieg
again he 'meld sow four feet apart ; the
euro will be sweeter if it bas plenty of
room in dnlls The silo was built in an
ordinary barn in the corner, about 10x12
feet amide, and 201t, hish. Pat to 6 or
or 6 feet of feed first day.
(This was considered rather much by
Professor Mills.) It should ba est
with sickle, as it will then be in better
shape to handle for cutting in strew -

were the best. Shorthorns, in matter of
size and form, mature • little earlier than
any other breed, sett are more noted for

attained without good care and shelter.

It is with deep regret that we have to
chronicle the departure from this life of
one wile will be very much missed from
the family circle. We refer to lilies
Elizabeth Holland, of Ashfield, who
died on Sabbath, the 13th inst. Her
remains were interred in Dunganita
cemetery on Tuesday afternoon by a
large concourse of sorrowing friends and
neighbors. There were upwards of one
hundred cnuveyances. Rev J Carrie
conducted the obsequies- There will be
a funeral sermon delivered in the Epis-
copalian church on Sabbath, 20th Int.
Service commences at half past ten
o'clock, a.m. We extend cur sympathy
to the bereaved in their deep affliction.

16th inst., in Dungannon Cemetery,
