Grant, • native of Stanley, will regret to
learn of the death of his oozy son, Wm.
Grant, which took plass a: his father's
residence in Cleveland •m the 2nd of

Mr•'oi. C. Carrie, deputy•sheritf of
Winnipeg, was in town during the week,

as hearty as of yore, and was enthusias-
tically received by his host of friends in
this section, who all rejoice that he has

day he remised a telegram from Wiarton
that his brother-in-law, Neil McMlillan,
postmaster of that village was dead, and

appeared in good fettle, and marched
with the precision of regulars. They
complain, however, that they were com-
pelled to do • hard day's work in strik-
ing toots and packing op, and that noth-
ing was provided for them in the way of
eatables from early morn until they
arrived in Goderieit. They dont object
to the hard work, but hawing built up
good appetites they want regular meals.
