If the friends of the Scutt Act in Hu-
ron have had any disposition previously
to grow faint hearted over the interest
taken in temperance matter, the c'nven-
tion held in Clinton, on Tuesday, should
611 then! with fresh curage. There has
not been a better attended temperance
gathering since the Act carne into force,
and instead o f holding the proceedings
in the school roam of Rattenbury St.

the church proper.

Mr Weston was one of the earliest pio-
neer*, for iia years a resident of the town-
ship and of the farm on which h died.
He was twice married, to a M� Me-
Grewor, and afterward to a Mia (ronin,
by whom he leaves four sons, all married
but one, and three daughters, all a)>s-
ried. He was a good neighbor, and take
ben all in all an exemplary cititizen. He
was buried in the Hayfield cemetery last
Sunday.
