"The despatch received in Stratford
Wednesday afternoon from the telegraph
operator at Goderich, that our lac:ogee
team had been defeated there in three
straights, was evidently • little biassed.
The Hurons won the tint game In too
minutes. In the second, McCutchecn, of
the Stratford teat, was laid out by an
unlucky blow, and the game had to go on
without him. Thi. gem. was alio won
by the Hurons. During the third game,
which was won by the Stratforda, Gibson
was also placed bear.. ,f,- :.,moat, which so
crippled the Stratford team that the game
had to be called."
The above, from the Stratford iforco,.,
is incorrect in a number of particulars.
The facts are as follows : -The brat game
was woo by the Hurons eo 3 minutes, the
second in 8 minutes, and the third was
in progress but a few minutes, when
time was called, as McCutcheon was take
est ill not hurt . After • little rest the
Stratford. refused to play further, and
gave the game to the Huron., their cap-
tain remarking that they "could not get
• game in a month, se they were out-
played et every point." But play was
resumed as an exhibitive game, to enter-
tain the spectators, who were disap-
pointed at witnessing en short a game.
