A rather serious accident happened
near Scarf's corners, Hawick .n Sunday
last. While G. Hamilton and his three
small children, of Clifford, was driving

Mr. Priehard's his ponies got frightened'
and became unmanageable. They ran

children nut. The oldest toy got his
hip knocked Out of joint and bis land
bruised.
On Monday last Thos. Bisset, yr., of
Easter, sold to J. T. Hicks, a span of
matched heavy horses for the New York
market. They weighed 3,310 pounds -
the heaviest ever known in this section
-and were sold for the nam of $475.
The price received for them is consider-
ed small, their ages being rspeotively
three and five years.

On Friday Thos. McCreigbt, sr., the
oldest man in Huron county, died at his
residence in the tewniehiw of Turnberg,
at the advanced age of 104 years. His

the horses ran away, throwing both oc-
cupants out of the wagon. John, who
