The grounds chosen were on Daisyburn Farm. The swings. securely fastened to the tall beaches, were kept in motion by those devoted ladies' men, C. Stewart, F. Linfield, and Dave Cowan. Croquet was played on the outskirts of the ground, while in an open glade the boys kicked the bounding foot ball to their beard content. After supper a game of baa•bell was played by teams commanded by Q. H. Williams and Harry Horton, the latter being vie - torn us. Quoitinte was not forgotten. The little ones also had their sports, and were amosing, thsosslvss coder the fath- erly charge of J. G. Glutton and John Horton. Our Dunlop confrere took charge of the married ladies without gal- lant escorts, and mads an extra pot of tea of kis best brewing for them. The ladies in charge of the lemonade, did their business coolly, and to the pleasure of all. The grounds were declared to be the choicest spot for s pio-nic in the vicinity, and the entire plc -nim was voted a •teemsdi by e:l present. The pie-nis committee dearer, thanks f..r they efforts to Drake the affair what it was. KtntalL Seeding operations seems to he some- what backward in this vicinity. The Misses Ford, milliners, of this place, added last week to their lance stock a new consignment of goods which cannot fail to please the ladies.
