Mr. Grieve was an usually healthy, robust man for his age and any persen seeing him a few week* ago would have said that he was good fur several years yet. It was ordered otherwise, however, and he pawed quietly away, surrounded by hia children and friends, un Sunday evening after an illness a poly ten days. He has never really been confined to bed. and was in Sea - forth transacting business a week pre- vious to his death. Ile had attained the good age of 72 years and six months. Mr. Grieve was a native of Itemboroshire, Scotland. He came to this country in 1839,and was accompanied by his father, mother and brother Thomas. Shortly after arriving here his father died, and his was the woond interment made in the Harpurhey cemetery, and father and son now lie there side by side. Mr. Grieves having other friends in this seetion cams directly to McKillop and took up shad kcated the farm where he continued to reside until his death. At that time it was a dense frrest, but by industry and good management ho ...on succeeded in converting it into one of the handsomest and most productive and profitable farms in the county, from the fruits of which be not only succeeded in establishing all his children in comforts- lele homes but leaves behind a compet- ency besides.
