Lx sbriags,
Not a few of our readers will be pain-
ed to learn of the sudden death of This.
O Niel, which unhappy erent took place
at his residence on Friday, the 5th ult.
The deceased had not been in good
health for some time, but nothing seri-
ous wu anticipated uutil Friday about 4
o'clock, when he was soddenly taken ill,
and it became painfully evident that
death would soon claim hien as a victim.
Hereceived the last Sacrament of the
Catholic Church, and 'remained perfect-
ly coneciuus up to death. His remains
were iuterr.d in the Roman Catholic
cemetery hen. Rev. R. Beauaang offi-
ciated at the obsequies. He leaves a
widow and ten children to mourn his un-
timely end.
[rhe above item was inadvertently
omitted last week.—El..]
MAnaMONI• --"Where are all these
fancy riga going to r These words were
addressed to a group of boys "rho were
eagerly watching the approach of a num-
ber of vehicles. ''I rues yuu don't
know," replied one with a pair of glow-
w.eans shining under his brows. •'The
very reason I ask." "Well, I'll tell
you. Mr. John Sullivan is getting
manied to Mies Maggie Dalton, the
organist in this chord], and here they
conte." "Hurrah buys ! let's tit., we'll
get sense money te-day." When the
vehicles arriv8d at the Catholic Church
a halt was made, and the tray throng
wended its wily towards and entered the
huiklio followed by your correspon-
dent. Th nasi sit entering wu charm-
ing, and it ' wined the sante charac-
e terestio, engaged in, throughout
the cervi attendance was l
on the many being there
reason of the jubilee which is being held,
and many learn there, no doubt in order
to sinless the Intertestine ceremony
which joinstern into one. Rev. R. Beau -
sang periortnedatthe ceremony in his usual
impressive style. Agreeably to his rever-
ence's council—"tis keep from taysrni "—
the large een(x,urtie delve o$ to the
bride's father's, where a sumptuous din-
ner, excellent in kind and quality, was

dent's admiration was drawn f..rth by
the leaurious dinner, it wu equally so
by the 'many pretty smiling (aces that
aurr,unded him. The yt.ung men•pres-
eat -seemed to fully appreciate the
beauties, returned their miles, andlt ooh
looks and actions pointed towards a re-
petition of the day's ceremson.v at sie
distant date. Dancing became the order
of the lay, in which almost all indulged
wrth a eta that w••uld surprise the na-
tives. While the guests eol••yed them-
selves id the manner mentioned, a little
game was being manipulated in another
(iaerter Which was croon tit please and sur-
prise: A table of no small dimensions
was pinged at one end of a specious roans
on whish wits piled a variety of etistly
and useful articles, the contributionsof
the lady friends of the bride. All things
being ready and a proper disposition of
the presents being mane, an invitation
was sent to the bridegroom and bride to
enter, this same was extended to as many
of the guests as could tind admittanee,
then Miss Keefe read the following ad-
dress :—
Te Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan,

brought us together, and on behalf c1
some of your many friend+, beg leers to

tot its intrinsic value, but as a memento
of onr friendship for you and our best
wishes for your prosperity, and future
bappisiess. We sincerely hope that all

union and that nn rimed shall ever darken
your path." Mary Keefe, Lizzie Dalton.
Mrs. S.. exp her thanks and Mr.
8.. foIl.swerd in a neat little speech ex-
ressive of their gratitude to the gener-
ous donoce.assuriug them that they were
not intending to leave but lire among
them. The hour determined on for their
departure en their marriage tour having
arrived and carriages all ready. the mete
assembled to front of Mr. Delton s resi-
dence, gave three hearty cheers, which
rent the air for no short distance, made
tlie horses restive, and all were soon lost
ul the distataee, The guests returned to
Mr. Dalton's, wiser* ahappy evening was
spent. Reflection—The regret is, that
such occasions are too mush like angel's
visits. R slier
